The Senate Finance Committee did not vote on a supplemental appropriations bill today, Ogden noted it is prudent to wait since the numbers could be adjusted in the next few weeks. SJR 52 would have citizens vote on a constitutional amendment that would allow the state to tax business income without triggering a prohibition against personal income taxes. The thought is that SJR 52 would eliminate the current business tax and return to the tax it replaced.
