David Sibley of Waco, who gave up his seat in 2002, announced that he will run for in the special election Perry recently set for SD 22.  In announcing for the Senate District 22 seat, Sibley cited the challenges ahead for the Legislature, including a massive projected deficit. “I’m excited about the opportunity to return to public service for the citizens of Senate District 22, and I look forward to visiting with them in the coming weeks about their concerns and about my vision for results-oriented and conservative government in Austin,” he said.
