The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) will host two meetings to provide information to the public about the 2010 SO2 primary NAAQS and requirements regarding the state’s recommendation for designation of areas in Texas under the new standard.
The first meeting will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011, in Austin, Texas at the TCEQ headquarters located at 12100 Park 35 Circle, in Building F, Room 2210, at 1:30 p.m. central standard time. The public may participate in this meeting via video teleconference at TCEQ regional offices located in Amarillo, Abilene, San Angelo, Waco, Houston, Laredo, and Corpus Christi. Directions to these offices may be obtained from the TCEQ’s Web site.
A second information meeting will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011, in Port Arthur, Texas at the Robert A. “Bob” Bowers Civic Center located at 3401 Cultural Center Dr., in Halls D & E, at 2:00 p.m. central standard time. Those planning to attend who have special communication or other accommodation needs should contact Mary Ann P. At both meetings, staff will accept informal written comments applicable to the state’s recommendation for designation of areas under the new standard. Informal comments may also be submitted via e-mail to siprules@tceq.state.tx.us (include “SO2 primary NAAQS Public Comment” in the subject line), or via regular mail to: TCEQ, Attn: Mary Ann P. Cook, P. O. Box 13087, MC-206, Austin, TX 78711-3087. All informal comments must be received by February 7, 2011.
