AUSTIN— Speaker Joe Straus (R-San Antonio) today released the following statement on Comptroller Combs’ update to her revenue estimate for the next two years:
“The Texas House welcomes the good news from Comptroller Combs today, and we are pleased to see the strength of the Texas economy as it rebounds from the national recession,” said Speaker Straus. “This update is encouraging and provides an important step in addressing the critical funding needs in our budget, including funding for public education. I thank the House conferees as they continue to work with the Senate on House Bill 1.”
