House Speaker Joe Straus, R-San Antonio, won a GOP caucus vote this afternoon, according to media reports.

Of 101 Republican House members, 100 were present at the GOP caucus meeting, and 70 of those voted for Straus as House Speaker, said caucus chairman Rep. Larry Taylor, R-Friendswood.

This was a caucus vote only; the actual binding vote for House speaker will take place on the House floor tomorrow.
