The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has made the following personnel changes and announced a new office of waste – effective August 1:

  • Richard Hyde is transferring from Deputy Director for the Office of Permitting and Registration (OPR) to be the Deputy Director for the OCE, replacing John Sadlier who will be retiring from the agency. Prior to his appointment to Deputy Director for OPR, Richard worked as Division Director for the Air Permits Division. He began his career in 1992 as an air permits engineer. He has also served as an environmental consultant in the private sector. Hyde has a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Education from Texas State University.
  • Steve Hagle is being appointed as the new Deputy Director for the newly named Office of Air. Hagle has served as the Air Permits Division Director since August 2009. Hagle graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer.

New Office of Waste –

The Office of Waste will be comprised of the Waste Permits Division, Remediation Division, Radioactive Materials Division, and the Permitting and Registration Support Division.

Brent Wade is being appointed as the Deputy Director. Prior to this position he was named Director of the Remediation Division. Brent received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry from Angelo State University.
