The TCEQ’s Air Quality Division is extending the deadline for ozone area designation comments until November 8th due to the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) announced delay in finalizing the 2010 ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards. The extension should allow comments to be based on the finalized standard. Although the EPA has not provided updated time lines for state recommendations, the Federal Clean Air Act requires that states have a minimum of 120 days to submit designation recommendations.
