As part of TxDOT’s ongoing modernization effort, Executive Director Amadeo Saenz recently announced the posting of two new executive positions in the department’s administration — chief administration officer (CAO) and chief information officer (CIO). These positions will remain open until November 5th

 

The press release from TxDOT states:

This represents an important first step toward developing an organizational structure that was recommended in the Grant Thornton (GT) review. The GT report proposed changes to TxDOT’s administration in order to ensure the department is better aligned to handle the changing organizational mission, goals and objectives of one of the best transportation agencies in the world. In addition, the TxDOT Restructure Council agreed and also made this recommendation to the commission and administration.
