Speaker Joe Straus yesterday issued the following statement on the House’s action on legislation that has been designated as emergency items by the Governor:
“Today, the House continued its work on emergency items by passing HB 15 (the sonogram bill) on third reading, by passing CSSB 14 (the Voter ID bill) out of committee, and by taking public testimony on SB 18 (the eminent domain bill). I want to commend the members of the House for swiftly moving these emergency items forward, and for their hard work on all of the challenging issues facing the state this session.”
