Meta has agreed to a $1.4 Billion settlement with Attorney General Ken Paxton over the company’s use of personal biometric data. The settlement is part of a suit initiated by AG Paxton in 2022, which was the first lawsuit brought under Texas’s “Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier” statute enacted by HB 3186 (81R) and SB 1343 (85R).
