Texas House Speaker Joe Straus has appointed Jeanie Wyatt of San Antonio to the Employees Retirement System of Texas Board of Trustees.

A Chartered Financial Analyst, Wyatt is the CEO and Chief Investment Officer of San Antonio-based South Texas Money Management (STMM). Prior to founding STMM, she was Executive Vice President and head of Frost Investment Services (Cullen/Frost Bankers, Inc.) She was responsible for the investment areas of nine trust departments around the state with approximately $13 billion in assets.

In recent years, Barron’s magazine has named her to the Top Financial Advisors by State list, as well as the Top 100 Women Financial Advisors list and the Top 100 Independent Advisors list. She has served on the State Pension Review Board and the National Endowment Fund Board of Trustees of the American Red Cross.

The six-member ERS board oversees investment of the retirement trust fund and the administration of benefits for state employees, retirees and their dependents. The Speaker of the House appoints one member of the board. Wyatt will replace Frederick E. Rowe, Jr. as the Speaker’s appointee.
