The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has announced the availability of $10 million in job-training funding from the Texas Legislature for the Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) Grant Program for the 2016-17 biennium.
 
This funding is for the purchase of equipment needed for use in career and technical programs that prepare students for high-demand jobs in Texas. Please be advised that, in addition to public community and technical colleges, independent school districts are now eligible to apply. for this fundingif the district has entered into a partnership with a public junior college or public technical institute.
 
Eligible educational institutions can apply for JET funding through a competitive grant process.  TWC has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) solicitation that provides information and instructions on how to submit a proposal packet. The RFP was published on May 13.
