This Sunday, June 21, is the deadline for Gov. Greg Abbott to veto or sign legislation. The governor has 20 days once the Legislature adjourns for the session to veto legislation. Any bill that Abbott doesn’t sign or veto automatically becomes law after the deadline.

Rep. Jim Keffer (R- Eastland) has decided not to seek re-election next year and will add to the list of those not planning to return for the next legislative session:

HD 130: Rep. Allen Fletcher (R-Tomball)
HD 139: Rep. Sylvester Turner (D-Houston)
