Voters returned to the polls to cast their ballots in special elections for SD 26, HD 17 and HD 123. Voting ended this evening and with the unoffical election results in, all races are headed to a runoff with the following candidates (total percentage of votes with over 90% of the precincts reporting*):
 
SD 26
Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer, D (43.55%) and Rep. Jose Menendez, D (25.41%)
 
HD 17
Brent Golemon, R (24.47%) and John Cyrier, R (46.10%)
 
HD 123
Diego Bernal, D (47.45%) and Nunzio Previtera, R (21.28%)
*Texas Secretary of State

Special elections were called for in Senate District 26 when Sen. Leticia Van de Putte resigned her seat to run for mayor of San Antonio, House District 17 when Rep. Tim Kleinschmidt resigned his seat for a position with the Texas Department of Agriculture, and House District 123 when Rep. Mike Villarreal also resigned his seat to run for mayor of San Antonio.
