Wednesday, July 16
 
House Select Committee on Transparency in State Agency Operations
July 16 – 9:00 AM
Reagan Building – Room 120
 
The House Select Committee on Transparency in State Agency Operations will meet in a public hearing pursuant to Rule 4, Section 10 (1) of the House Rules to consider ongoing business.
 
The Committee may also meet in executive session in JHR 131 pursuant to Rule 4, Section 12 of the House Rules.
 
The Committee may also consider and take action regarding planning, scheduling, courses of action, matters deliberated in closed session, items identified to be within the committee's powers, and ongoing committee business.
 
House Committee on Administration
July 16 – 10:00 AM
Capitol Extension – Room E2.010
 
The Committee will hold a public hearing relating to personnel matters, including matters or policies subject to review, investigation, or action by the Committee on House Administration; select committee budgets; and administrative oversight of technology changes for the House of Representatives.
 

Tuesday, July 22
 
Senate Committee on Higher Education
July 22 – 9:00 AM
Capitol Extension – Room E1.012
 
The Senate Higher Education Committee will take up the following charges:
 
Examine and make recommendations regarding improvements in teacher preparation and certification programs to address any misalignment with school district shortages and problems with retaining new teachers.
 
Study and make recommendations regarding the impact of technology on higher education instruction, including online courses and massive open online courses (MOOCs), and their impact on higher education excellence, cost, and funding requirements.
 
Public testimony will be limited to three (3) minutes. If submitting written testimony, please provide ten (10) copies with your name on each to the committee clerk.
 
 
Wednesday, July 23
 
House Select Committee on Economic Development Incentives
July 23 – 10:00 AM
Capitol Extension – Room E2.012
 
The committee will meet for an overall examination of the use of incentives as an economic development tool.
 
Invited and public testimony will be taken.  Public testimony will be limited to three (3) minutes.
 
 
Thursday, July 24
 
House Select Committee on Child Protection
July 24 – 10:00 AM
Reagan Building – Room 140
 
The House Select Committee on Child Protection will convene a public hearing to consider the following topics:
 
Examine regulatory policy and contract oversight within the child welfare system;
 
Suggest improvements to the screening, assessment, training, and support of potential foster and kinship families; and
 
Evaluate the ability of children and youth within the system to report maltreatment.
 
The committee will hear invited and public testimony. Public testimony may be time-limited at the discretion of the chair.
 
Joint Legislative Committee on Human Trafficking
July 24 – 10:00 AM
La Joya ISD Central Office, 604 Coyote Dr, La Joya
 
The committee will hear testimony on ways to further combat human trafficking along the Texas border and region and discuss services available to victims.
