In the Special Election for SD 4 Rep. Brandon Creighton is holding an early lead. It is being reported that Rep. Creighton is leading in early vote count with 47.2% of the vote followed by Businessman Gordy Bunch at 21.6%, Rep. Steve Toth (65 votes behind Bunch) at 21.3%, and former Sen. Mike Galloway has 10%. Election day totals are not available yet.
Governor Perry called the special election to fill the Texas senate seat vacated by Sen. Tommy Williams when he left to take a position at the Texas A&M University System.
