The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) sends members and staff of the 83rd Texas Legislature a regular, one-page report highlighting drought conditions across the state each week. This report typically highlights conditions from the US Drought Monitor as well as selected information from TWDB’s Water Data for Texas. Drought conditions have intensified over the past week, according to the report, with much of the Texas Panhandle over to Wichita Falls now under exceptional drought conditions, the worst level of drought. The latest drought outlook through the end of July shows improvements in east Texas and along the coast but lingering and intensifying drought in much of the rest of the state.
