U.S. Senate
- U.S. Senator John Cornyn (i) won with 59.4% of the vote for the Republican Primary
- Runoff – D. Alameel (47% of the vote) and Kesha Rogers (21.7% of the vote) are headed to the Democratic May Runoff
Governor
- Greg Abbott garnered 91.5% of the Republican primary votes
- Wendy Davis captured 79.1% of Democratic primary votes
Lt. Governor
- Runoff – Dan Patrick who received 41.5% of the votes will face Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst (i) who received 28.3% in the May Runoff
- Leticia Van de Putte ran unopposed in the Democratic Primary
Attorney General
- Runoff – Ken Paxton (44.4% of the vote) and Dan Branch (33.5% of the vote) will be in the May Republican Primary runoff
- Sam Houston ran unopposed in the Democratic Primary
Comptroller
- Runoff? – As of 2:16 a.m. the Texas Election Source reported that Glenn Hegar (49.9%) was 75 votes short of winning the race without a runoff. Hegar garnered 610,493 votes. Harvey Hilderbran captured the second highest amount – receiving 26% of the votes.
- Mike Collier ran unopposed in the Democratic Primary
Land Commissioner
- George P. Bush garnered 934,501 (73%) of the Republican primary votes
- John Cook ran unopposed in the Democratic Primary
Agriculture Commissioner
- Runoff – Sid Miller (34.6% of the vote) and Tommy Merritt (21% of the vote) will be in the May Republican Primary Runoff
- Runoff – Jim Hogan (38.8%) and Richard “Kinky” Friedman (37.7%) will be in the May Democratic Primary Runoff
Railroad Commission
- Runoff – Wayne Christian (42.7%) and Richard Sitton (30.5%) will be in the May Republican Primary Runoff
- Steve Brown captured 63.9% of the Democratic Primary Vote
STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION RUNOFFS
- SBOE District 11 – Incumbent Pat Hardy (49.6%) and Eric Mahroum (43.5%)
- SBOE District 13 – Erika Beltran (47%) and Andrea Hilburn (27.4%)
LEGISLATIVE INCUMBENTS DEFEATED or IN RUNOFFS

- SD 16 – Don Huffines captured 50.6% over incumbent John Carona (49.4%)
- HD 1 – Gary VanDeaver captured 54.3% over incumbent George Lavendar (45.7%)
- HD 4 – Stuart Spitzer captured 51.0% over incumbent Lance Gooden (49%)
- HD 55 – Molly White garnered 53.7% over incumbent Ralph Sheffield (46.3%)
- HD 94 – Tony Tinderholt garnered 55.4% over incumbent Diane Patrick (44.6%)
- HD 105 – Rodney Anderson captured 52.7% over incumbent Linda Harper-Brown (47.3%)
- HD 115 – Matt Rinaldi received 50.6% over incumbent Bennett Ratliff (49.4%)
Democrats
- HD 76 – In a three way race, incumbent Naomi Gonzales had the least amount of votes (27.2%)
- HD 90 – Ramon Romero garnered 51.1% over incumbent Lon Burnam (48.9%)

- SD 2 – Incumbent Bob Deuell (48.5%) and Bob Hall (38.8%)
- HD 102 – Linda Koop (34.7%) and incumbent Stefani Carter (33.2%)
