The Texas Transportation Commission convened on Dec.16, 2010 for its monthly meeting and took the following actions:

  • Authorized using a $5.6 million grant from the Federal Railroad Administration to study a proposed passenger rail facility from Oklahoma City, Okla. to Dallas/Fort Worth with a possible extension to South Texas.
  • Accepted the annual 2010-2011 Port Capital Report from the Port Advisory Committee.
  • Authorized using a $34 million federal TIGER II grant for the final design and construction of the Tower 55 Multimodal Improvement Project in Fort Worth.
  • Designated the period of Dec. 16, 2010 through Aug. 31, 2011 for public and private entities to submit applications under the pass-through financing program.

TxDOT Restructure Council’s presentation of its final report regarding recommendations from the Grant Thornton management and organization review and other audits of the department has been rescheduled for a meeting in January.
