Governor Rick Perry has appointed six members to the Texas On-Site Wastewater Treatment Research Council. The council identifies and meets the research and technology transfer needs of individuals involved with wastewater treatment in Texas.

 

Scott Adams of Fort Davis is general manager of the Fort Davis Water Supply Corporation. He is a member of the American Water Works Association, Texas Water Utilities Association, National Rural Water Association and Texas Small Public Water System Training Program, and is a member and past president of the Texas Rural Water Association. He is also a commissioner of the Jeff Davis County Emergency Service District Board, former chief of the Fort Davis Volunteer Fire Department, and a past committee chair for the Big Bend Livestock Show Association. Adams received a bachelor’s degree from Sul Ross State University. He is appointed for a term to expire Sept. 1, 2012.

 

Brian Christian of Round Rock is director of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Small Business and Environmental Assistance Division, and has been with the commission for 16 years. He is the former manager of the Pollution Prevention and Industry Assistance Section of TCEQ, and former TCEQ legislative liaison for air and waste issues. Christian received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas. He is appointed for a term to expire Sept. 1, 2012.

 

Jaime Garza of Harlingen is the air, water and waste section manager of the TCEQ Harlingen Region office. He is a past enforcement coordinator and environmental investigator of water and waste programs for TCEQ, with more than ten years of experience at the commission. He is also a mentor at Kids Hope USA. Garza received a bachelor’s degree from St. Edward’s University. He is appointed for a term to expire Sept. 1, 2011.

 

Richard D. Gerard of Livingston is the area administrator for the Trinity River Authority. He is a member of the Texas On-site Wastewater Association and Texas Environmental Health Association. He is also chairman of the Polk County Extension Leadership Advisory Board and a member of the County Variance Commission. Gerard received a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is reappointed for a term to expire Sept. 1, 2012.

 

Janet Dee Meyers of Aubrey is secretary-treasurer of Aubrey Builders Inc. She is a member of the Aubrey Chamber of Commerce, a committee member of the City of Aubrey Planning and Zoning Committee, and a volunteer at the Denton State School. Meyers received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas. She is reappointed for a term to expire Sept. 1, 2012.

 

Ronald J. Suchecki Jr. of China Spring is general manager of Hoot Systems LLC. He is past president and director of the Texas On-site Wastewater Association, director of the National On-site Wastewater Recycling Association and a member of the National Environmental Health Association. Suchecki received a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University. He is reappointed for a term to expire Sept. 1, 2012.
