The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is holding an informational meeting on state designation recommendations for the 2010 NO2 primary NAAQS on September 16, 2010, at the Austin Headquarters, Building F, Room 2210, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. central standard time. The public may also participate in the meeting via video teleconference at the TCEQ regional offices in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, El Paso, San Antonio, and Harlingen.

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published the 2010 NO2 air quality standard on February 9, 2010 http://www.epa.gov/ttn/naaqs/standards/nox/fr/20100209.pdf. State recommendations regarding NO2 designations are due to the EPA by January 10, 2011. On November 12, 2010, staff recommendations on the attainment status of Texas counties for the 2010 NO2 will be considered at Commissioner’s Work Session http://www.tceq.state.tx.us/comm_exec/agendas/wk_sess/w_session.html.
Informal comments on the designation recommendation will be accepted until October 1, 2010.
