As part of the work of the Texas House Select Committee on Federal Economic Stabilization Funding, Chairman Jim Dunnam announced the formation of three subcommittees to focus oversight on Stimulus expenditures in the areas of Education, Energy, and Transportation.
Rep. Carol Kent will chair the Education Subcommittee, which will include Rep. Garnet Coleman and Rep. Vicki Truitt. 
Rep. Solomon Ortiz, Jr. will chair the Energy Subcommittee along with members Jim Pitts and Craig Eiland. The subcommittee will study issues relating to the Weatherization Assistance Program, Smart Grid Investment grants, Clean Cities grant programs, the Conservation Block Grant Program and Biorefinery programs.

The Transportation Subcommittee will be chaired by Rep. Drew Darby and include Rep. Carol Kent and Rep. Myra Crownover.
