The State Auditor’s Office has released a report regarding the audit of the Teacher Retirement of Texas’s System Fiscal Year 2025 Financial Statements. The report found the basic financial statements for fiscal year 2025 to be materially correct and presented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Over the past fiscal year, the System saw the number of participants increase by 45, 382. The Pension Trust Fund also experienced positive growth, ending the 2025 fiscal year with a net position of 226.3 billion compared to $210.5 billion at the close of the 2024 fiscal year.

Additionally, a report over the internal control regarding financial reporting and compliance was issued. The report did not identify any weaknesses or areas of noncompliance.  In addition, the major internal controls that were tested for the purpose of forming opinions on the financial statements were operating effectively.
