$125 million in county transportation grants were appropriated in SB 500 – the supplemental appropriations bill passed in the last legislative session and effective last month. HB 4280 as passed in the 86th changed the methodology for determining the distribution of Transportation Infrastructure Fund (TIF) grants among the eligible counties.
Now an AG opinion has been requested by Rep. Garnet Coleman on if today’s current funding formula or the one in HB 4280 (effective on Sep. 1, 2019) will be used to distribute county transportation grants appropriated in SB 500.
