October 21st is the first day of early voting for the November 5th Uniform Election. Proposed constitutional amendments will be on the ballot as well as special elections for HD 28 recently vacated by Rep. Zerwas, HD 100 recently vacated by Rep. Johnson, and HD 148 recently vacated by Rep. Farrar. Texas voters have approved 498 amendments to the State Constitution since its adoption in 1876.

September 10th was the first day candidates could file for a place on the Primary ballot for the March 3, 2020 Primary Elections. The filing deadline for candidates will be December 9, 2019.  Runoffs for the March 3rd Primary will be held on May 26th.

SBOE Update: Texas State Board of Education chairwoman Donna Bahorich, who represents part of Harris County, announced she will not seek reelection in 2020 as the District 6 representative.
