Acting Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced that roughly 73,000 Texas Education Freedom accounts (TEFA) will receive funding on July 1st. The first group to receive funding includes private school families who opted in and whose selected school confirmed the student’s enrollment, along with homeschool/other families who opted in by the deadline.

Families who received funding before June 22nd must select a participating school by July 15th. The selected school must confirm the student’s enrollment through the TEFA portal by July 31st.

Additionally, the TEFA marketplace, an online platform enabling users to access TEFA funds directly, will be open July 1st.
