TEFA Funding Updates

Acting Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced that roughly 73,000 Texas Education Freedom accounts (TEFA) will receive funding on July 1^st. The first group to receive funding includes private school families who opted in and whose selected school confirmed the student’s enrollment, along with homeschool/other families who opted in by the deadline.

Families who received funding before June 22^nd must select a participating school by July 15^th. The selected school must confirm the student’s enrollment through the TEFA portal by July 31^st.

Additionally, the TEFA marketplace, an online platform enabling users to access TEFA funds directly, will be open July 1^st.
