TCEQ’s Texas Groundwater Protection Committee released its annual Joint Groundwater Monitoring and Contamination Report. The report covers each case of groundwater contamination and associated cleanup activities documented during the previous calendar year, the enforcement actions that have been taken for each case, and a comprehensive list of previous inactive cases. This report showed that there were 2690 active cases in 2025, of which 199 were new cases. This is a decline from the 2747 cases that were open in 2024.
