The Texas Commission on Public School Finance gave unanimous approval to their report on December 19, 2018. During the 6 hour meeting, the committee deliberated on the final language for over 30 recommendations before voting on the final report.  A final report, which will include Commission members’ letters, will be published on the TEA website and sent to lawmakers

Following passage of the report, Gov. Greg Abbott released a statement concluding, “Today’s school finance commission report made clear that the state must reform the broken Robin Hood system and allocate more state funding to education. This session, we will do just that.” Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said in his statement that the report echoed his priorities in reforming the school finance system which included property taxes and substantially increasing pay for teachers.
