The Senate calendars are posted, it is anticipated that much of the deliberation in the Senate Chamber today will revolve around HB 3 (Huberty), school finance legislation, which has over 100 pre-filed amendments.

Key Deadlines/Dates of Interest Coming Up

Monday, May 6 (119th Day) – The last day for House Committees to report HBs & HJRs

Tuesday, May 7 by 10pm (120th day) – Deadline for the House to distribute its last house daily calendar with house bills and house joint resolutions.

Wednesday, May 8 by 9 am (121st day) Deadline for the House to distribute its last house local and consent calendar with consent house bills.

Thursday, May 9 (122nd day) Last day for the House to consider house bills and house joint resolutions on 2nd reading on the daily or supplemental calendar

Friday, May 10, 2019 (123rd day) Last day for the House to consider consent house bills on 2nd and 3rd reading and all 3rd reading house bills or house joint resolutions on the supplemental calendar

Bills on the Move

HB 1264 (S. Thompson) relating to pharmacist communications to prescribing practitioners regarding certain dispensed biological products has passed out of the House and Senate and was sent to the Governor on 5/1.

HB 1273 (Zedler) relating to denial of payment for preauthorized health care services was unanimously passed out of the House as amended on 5/2.

SB 1096 (Perry) relating to pharmacy benefits provided through the Medicaid managed care program was passed out of the Senate as amended on 5/2 with 30 ayes and 1 nay.

SB 1105 (Kolkhorst) relating to administration and operation of Medicaid, including Medicaid managed care was unanimously passed out of the Senate on 5/1.

HB 233 (Krause) Relating to the scheduling of the first and last days of school for students by school districts set on the House calendar for 5/6.

HB 803 (Patterson) Relating to financial reporting requirements for toll projects set on the House calendar for 5/6.

HB 1595 (Paddie/Hughes) Relating to the deployment of advanced metering and meter information networks in certain areas outside of ERCOT was sent to the Governor 5/2.
