Lt. Gov. Patrick has named Sen. Brandon Creighton (R-Conroe) Chair of the Senate Committee on Education, effectively immediately. Patrick further announced plans to make the Senate Committee on Higher Education a sub-committee of the Senate Committee on Education during the 88th Legislative Session. Former Senate Education Chair Larry Taylor (R-Friendswood) previously announced he would not seek re-election to the 88th Legislature. Sen. Angela Paxton (R-McKinney) will serve as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Education.
