Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Leslie Recine to the State Board of Education for District 13.
Her term will continue until her successor is elected and quailifed, which is set to occur during the upcoming general election in November. Dr. Tiffany Clark (D) is running unopposed in the November 5 General Election to fill the unexpired term.
Aicha Davis, the previous board member, is now running for the Texas House of Representatives in District 109 in the same election.
The State Board of Education has scheduled its final meeting for the year from November 18-22, 2024.
