Acting Comptroller Kelly Hancock has released a revenue estimate projecting $3.1 billion is available for general purpose spending through Aug. 31, 2027.

“Texas’ revenue estimate is holding steady,” said Hancock. “With a record balance in the Rainy Day Fund, a conservative approach to budgeting should keep us well-prepared to fund essential priorities, support growth and respond to future needs as directed by the Texas Legislature.”

In a July 21 press release, Acting Comptroller Hancock noted that the Economic Stabilization Fund (Rainy Day Fund) is expected to hit the constitutional cap in 2026 and appropriations from it, including disaster relief, could affect amount of GR available.
