Today the Texas House Democrats released a statement saying, “As of today, this corrupt special session is over.” On Texas Democrat’s X account they just reposted a picture of a jet with the statement, “Happening now: House Democrats are boarding a private jet for Chicago to break quorum ahead of tomorrow’s planned vote on redistricting in the chamber.” Posts are continuing on X as the situation develops. It has been reported that at least 51 Texas House Democrats are leaving the state now.
Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows on his X account said the House will be convening at 3pm tomorrow and if a quorum is not present then “all options will be on the table…”
