Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) President and CEO H.B. "Trip" Doggett has announced to the ERCOT Board of Directors that he plans to retire in 2016.
Doggett began work in the ERCOT market in 1998 as a consultant to Austin Energy during design of the rules for the zonal market. Beginning in 2000, he helped ERCOT, as an independent consultant, to build its zonal systems and begin nodal market design. He joined the ERCOT staff in 2008 as chief operating officer — overseeing system operations, system planning, market operations and compliance — and in 2010 was named president and chief executive officer.
