Governor Rick Perry has set January 28, 2014 as the date for the runoff election to determine who will succeed Mark Strama as Representative for House District 50. The candidates in the runoff are Celia Israel (D) and Mike VanDeWalle (R).
The special election was held November 5 which narrowed the candidates from five to two.
