Today the House voted not to concur with Senate amendments made to general appropriations bill (HB1). The House announced the following conferees, Reps.: John Otto (R-Dayton)-chair, Sylvester Turner (D-Houston), Trent Ashby (R- Lufkin), Larry Gonzales (R- Round Rock), and Sarah Davis (R – West University Place).

The House further adopted the following motions to instruct conferees:

  • Instructs to allow for Bell County to be included in the Air Quality Planning Rider if they become a non-attainment zone
  • Instruct to keep previous amendments authored by Rep. Leach including those relating to sexual education and abstinence programs  
  • Retain funding for Texas State Guard   
  • Limit negotiations to matters relating solely to budget & spending (not tax policy).
