Republican Party officials from the counties within HD 83 have decided on Lubbock attorney Dustin Burrows to replace Rep. Charles Perry (R-Lubbock) on the November ballot.
 
Perry withdrew his name from the ballot to run for the Senate seat vacated by Sen. Robert Duncan (R-Lubbock) in June of this year. Duncan retired when he was approved as the new chancellor for the Texas Tech University System.
 
Burrows will face Lubbock attorney Max R. Tarbox in the November general election.  Tarbox was chosen by HD 83 Democratic party officials.
