The Federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has approved Texas’ request to extend the 1115 Medicaid waiver for 5 additional years. Key portions of the waiver will undergo changes during this extension period, with a gradual phase out of funds associated with the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment program and significant alterations to calculations determining Uncompensated Care funding beginning in 2019. Total funding is contingent on Texas meeting deadlines throughout 2018 and 2019 to implement protocol addendums and policy changes in accordance with these new calculations. For more infromation please see the Texas Health and Human Services 1115 Waiver page here.
