Scheduled on the Wednesday House Calendar, May 18, are two Senate fiscal matters bills, SB 1581 & SB 1811, and the cost savings bill for Medicaid, SB 23.

SB 1581 is the fiscal matters bill relating to state fiscal matters, and certain public health and safety matters, related to public and higher education; providing penalties. There is speculation this bill could become a vehicle for a school finance plan. This bill also has language in it relating to campus carry; allowing a handgun to be carried by license holders on certain public campuses/institutions of higher education.

Calendars has issued a rule that amendments to SB 23, 1581 and 1811 must be filed by 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 17.
