Today on the Senate floor the committee substitute of SB 332, authored by Senate Natural Resources Committee Chairman Sen. Troy Fraser, was passed out of the Senate with 28 ayes and 3 nays.

C.S.S.B. 332 amends current law relating to the vested ownership interest in groundwater beneath the surface of land, the right to produce that groundwater, and the management of groundwater in this state.

“We recognize what we’re doing here is very important to the future of Texas,” Fraser said.
