The chairman of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Bryan Shaw, sent a letter this month to EPA Regional Administrator Al Armendariz recounting the steps that his agency is taking in order to address certain EPA concerns. Shaw further requested that EPA honor its past agreements with the TCEQ.
“I am sure you share our desire to resolve our issues and to allow Texas to continue down a path of improving the air quality of the state,” Shaw stated in his letter. Shaw noted his concerns that the EPA “has now changed its goals and is attempting to take the TCEQ down a different path.”
