This morning the House Public Health Committee took up the committee substitute to HB 1013 (Brown). The bill relates to improve accountability and transparency of the Texas Medical Board. These measures would include setting statutes of limitations, providing doctors with details of the charges against them and giving them more time and legal remedies to respond or appeal. 

The bill was voted out of committee favorably as substituted with 7 ayes and 2 nays.
