Dr. Ray Perryman spoke to a sold-out Fast Growth School Coalition (FGSC) luncheon event during the 2021 Texas TASA/TASB Conference over the weekend. Perryman provided analysis not only on the growth of Texas but what that will mean for Texas public education. “80% of the people raised in Texas- stay in Texas,” said Perryman as he reminded the audience that many of the school children educated in our public schools will stay in this state and contribute to its economy.

The FGSC is a collective voice that educates and advocates for investment in the state’s fastest-growing school districts to deliver the high-quality education Texas students and taxpayers deserve. To be identified as a fast-growth school district, the following criteria must be met: 1) Enrollment of at least 2,500 students during the previous school year; and 2) Enrollment growth over the last five years of at least 10%; or a net increase of 3,500 or more students.
