Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced the appointment of David Maxwell as Director of Law Enforcement, Adrienne McFarland as Deputy Attorney General for Criminal Justice and Rudy Montoya as Chief Information Officer. This move elevates the Information Technology division to a deputy-level position.
 
David Maxwell is a 43-year veteran of Texas law enforcement. Prior to joining the Texas Attorney General's Office in 2010 as Deputy Director of Law Enforcement, he served 38 years with the Texas Department of Public Safety. 
 
Adrienne McFarland was named Division Chief of the Criminal Prosecutions Division in 2011. Previously, McFarland served as the Deputy Division Chief of the newly-created Criminal Prosecutions Division where she acted as the head of the Violent Crime and Major Offender Section.
 
Rudy Montoya became the Office of the Attorney General’s Chief Information Officer in 2012, after holding IT positions of increasing responsibility over his 25-year career with the agency.
