Another Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) Board work session has been added and will be held May 29, 2014, in El Paso. In addition to taking up agenda items, public input will also be solicited on SWIFT implementation. Additionally, written comments related to SWIFT can be submitted via TWDB website.
Board work sessions and stakeholder meetings have been conducted around the state and in Austin, Texas to get input into the rulemaking process including answers to the questions from the Texas Water Development Board’s (TWDB) preliminary list regarding rulemaking.
Rulemaking Meetings
February 11*, 24*, March 24, and May 29 – Board work sessions throughout the state to solicit public input on SWIFT implementation.
January 31*, February 19*, and March 6* – Stakeholder meetings to encourage dialogue on specific issues related to SWIFT rulemaking.

- June 2014 – Target date for TWDB to propose SWIFT rule
- December 2014 – Target date for TWDB to adopt rule
- 2015 – Earliest TWDB could begin utilizing SWIFT
