Even though SB 1811 passed out of the House this evening with 84 ayes and 63 nays, the Senate was unable to vote on the bill. Senator Wendy Davis tonight filibustered SB 1811 for just over an hour. It is the critical bill needed to balance the budget and address the distribution of $4 billion in cuts to school finance.

Dewhurst said he had one more chance to pass the bill on Monday, according to recent media reports; needing a fourth-fifths vote in the Senate to suspend to take up the vote.
