Tonight the House refused to concur in Senate amendments made to HB 275. HB 275 makes an appropriation of money from the Economic Stabilization Fund, also referred to as the Rainy Day Fund (RDF), for expenditure during the current state fiscal biennium. The House version would tap the RDF for $3.1 billion while the Senate version appropriates $3.9 billion. House Appropriations Chairman Jim Pitts stated they are very close to an agreement with the Senate on the budget which would include appropriating $3.1 billion from the RDF for the current biennium.

House Conferees Reps.: Pitts-chair, Aycock, Darby, Giddings and Morrison.
