H2O4Texas was formed to increase public awareness of the critical water shortfalls facing Texas and begin mobilizing support for full implementation of the State Water Plan. This group recently organized a two-day water conference the week before Thanksgiving in Fort Worth with more than 600 attendees participating.

The conference was hosted by Sen. Kip Averitt, R-Waco, and Rep. Allan Ritter, D-Nederland, chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee. Speakers included Lt. Governor David Dewhurst who affirmed his support for finding funding for the state water plan during the next legislative session.
