Governor Greg Abbott, along with House Speaker Burrows and Lieutenant Governor Patrick, called for greater accountability over prosecutorial decisions in some regions of the state.
Burrows stated that “this will be a top priority for the Texas House next session,” and Patrick added that “the Texas Senate will take strong action” to combat this issue. Additionally, Burrows added that the House Governmental Oversight Select Committee will hear testimony on this issue on September 30th.
