The Texas Education Agency has published the following letters to school administrators:
- Child Find (SPPI-11 & SPPI-12) Submission in the Texas Student Data System (TSDS) for the SY 2023–2024 – The Texas Student Data System (TSDS) Child Find Collection for the 2023-2024 school year opened on September 11, 2023, for local educational agencies (LEAs) to promote data for children initially evaluated for special education with an eligibility determination date from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.
- Annual Assessment of School District Compliance with Commissioner’s Rules Concerning Counseling Public School Students – Texas Education Code requires school districts to annually assess compliance with their policies requiring a school counselor to spend at least 80 percent of the school counselor’s total work time on duties that are components of a counseling program developed under this code.
- Texas Advanced Placement (AP)/International Baccalaureate (IB) Incentive Program – State Exam Fee Subsidy for the 2023-2024 School Year – The AP-IB exam state subsidy for the spring 2024 administration will be $32 for each AP and IB exam taken by an eligible student. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has provided subsidies for students taking AP and IB exams since 1993 with the enactment of the Advanced Placement Incentive Program. TEA is committed to ensuring AP and IB exams remain affordable for low-income students.
